3 Manuals, 30 Ranks
This instrument was completed in June 2002, and was a gift to her church by an elderly parishioner who had won the New Jersey Lottery.
Designed and voiced specifically for the needs of the modern Catholic community, the organ has 30 ranks of pipes controlled from a three-manual console. A wide range of voices in different tonal colors and volumes provide the tools needed to accompany the choir and the congregation, as well as to play the incidental music of the service. The Church's active music program and schools, K-12th grades, make nearly constant use of the instrument.
Fully developed Principal choruses, from 8' through Mixture are provided in the Great and Swell organs, the latter being particularly useful in choral accompaniment. The Choir organ features a lighter selection of stops, for use with younger voices.
The 1777 pipes of the organ are totally enclosed in a free standing case, the design of which was inspired by the reredos surrounding the altar. The longest pipes of the 16' Principal are placed horizontally under the organ, while the pipes of the 16' Subbass form the sides of the case. The treble end of this stop is shared with the Great Major Flute, a large stop that transitions through several shapes, and has a character similar to a Harmonic Flute in the treble. In addition, it can serve as the 8' stop under the remainder of the Great Principals, for a secondary ensemble. A full-length Trombone stop, with leathered English shallots, is extended into the manual range as a Grand Trumpet stop, on higher pressure.
The organ has our electro-pneumatic slider-and-pallet chests, for long, trouble-free life and outstanding cohesion of sound. The console controls the organ through a micro-processor relay, connected by a single, tiny fiber-optic strand. Full MIDI features are included as standard on all of our instruments.
